Three new licensed cannabis producers in Canada

Three additional license approvals in the Processing category this week. There are 145 Licensed Producers. There have been eleven LP approvals in 2019. Approvals since our last report include: Abide Inc. in Ontario, Dalton Chemical Laboratories in Ontario and Lupos (Canada) Biotechnology in Ontario. The category ‘processing’ is a new addition and allows the licensee to possess and produce cannabis, other than by obtaining it by propagating, cultivating, or harvesting. All activities must be conducted indoors.

There are over 40 public companies that are LPs or own an interest in one or more LPs and more are on the way.

Licensed producers by province are Ontario (74 or 51%), British Columbia (31 or 21%), Quebec (12 or 8%) Alberta (8 or 6%), Nova Scotia (4 or 3%), Saskatchewan (4 or 3%), New Brunswick (3 or 2%), Manitoba (2 or 1%), Prince Edward Island (2 or 1%) and Newfoundland and Labrador (1 or 1%). Percent totals may not add up to 100% due to rounding.
