Aurora, MPX Bio, Aphria and CannTrust stand out on Cannabis Revenue Tracker

As we have said on many occasions, one of the more useful services we have found is New Cannabis Ventures, “The Public Cannabis Company Revenue Tracker.” As we are into reporting season for the Canadian cannabis companies, we thought it might help to give you a quick peek. Our focus is on the Canadian dollar reporting companies but the Revenue Tracker also lists the U.S. dollar reporting companies (see full report here).

In this report there are a mix of results. Certainly Aurora (+260% Y/Y), MPX Bio (+224% Y/Y), Aphria (+117% Y/Y) and CannTrust (+105% Y/Y) stand out among the group with over $10 million in sales. By the same token Canopy Growth (+33% Y/Y) has to be considered a disappointing. Of course, Canopy is probably focussed on spending a few billion in international markets but it would be nice to see a marked improvement in revenue next quarter. Also on the disappointing side is Namaste (+1% Y/Y). All the good news in their stream of press releases just seem to be replacing sales that drop off the table. Again, I would be much happier if the company focussed on running the business instead of throwing parties for shareholders who agree not to sell their stock much to their chagrin given the trend in N’s stock price. I’m thinking it was a pretty expensive event for most shareholders in attendance.

New Cannabis Ventures reports that 1933 Industries (CSE: TGIF), Isodiol International (CSE: ISOL), MPX Bio (CSE: MPX), Origin House (CSE OH) nee Cannaroyalty and Sunniva (CSE: SNN) are expected to report by the end of November. Of this group, I expect to see SNN climbing the charts over the next twelve months as added revenue will accrue from the operations of its oil extraction facility in California, sales of cannabis from the Cathedral City grow facility starting in the first quarter of 2019 and Canadian sales in the third quarter of 2019. I should add that 1933 Industries is also an interest situation that is currently on my radar screen.
