8 New Licensed Cannabis Producers in Canada
Eight new license approvals this week. There are 142 Licensed Producers. There have been eight LP approvals in 2019. Approvals since our last report include: Dosecann LD Inc. approved for processing in Prince Edward Island, Zenalytic Laboratories in British Columbia, Toronto Research Chemicals in Ontario for processing, SynFine Research in Ontario for processing, Hollyweed Manufacturing & Extracts in British Columbia for processing, ARA – Avanti Rx Analytics in Ontario for processing, High Park Holdings in Ontario for processing and 9354-7537 Quebec in Quebec for processing. The category ‘processing’ is a new addition and allows the licensee to possess cannabis, produce cannabis, other than by obtaining it by propagating, cultivating, or harvesting. All activities must be conducted indoors.
There are over 40 public companies that are LPs or own an interest in one or more LPs and more are on the way.
Licensed producers by province are Ontario (71 or 50%), British Columbia (31 or 22%), Quebec (12 or 8%) Alberta (8 or 6%), Nova Scotia (4 or 3%), Saskatchewan (4 or 3%), New Brunswick (3 or 2%), Manitoba (2 or 1%), Prince Edward Island (2 or 1%) and Newfoundland and Labrador (1 or 1%). Percent totals may not add up to 100% due to rounding.
