Theodore (Ted) M. Ohashi

 

Education: Bachelor of Commerce University of British Columbia, Masters of Business Administration, University of British Columbia.

Professional Training: Chartered Financial Analyst, Fellow of Financial Analysts Society, has been licensed as an investment advisor and portfolio manager.

Work Experience: financial analyst, research manager, research director for largest Western Canadian based securities firm at the time, President and portfolio manager, mutual fund management company, Executive Vice President and portfolio manager - small cap mutual fund management firm, former instructor at the School of Business Capilano College, Member of the Capilano School of Business Advisory Board at the School of Business Capilano College (now Capilano University), investment and corporate communications for various Western Canadian based companies, consultant to several small, public companies most recently in the area of medical marijuana, publisher of medical marijuana newsletter “Let’s Toke Business,” founder of Green Coast Medicine, a private medical marijuana consulting company, Seeking Alpha and InvestorsHub contributor on cannabis investment opportunities, Member of Selection Committee for the Canadian Cannabis Composite Index.

Major Presentations: Institutional Investors Conference (Montreal, Que.), National Transportation Forum (Winnipeg, Man.), Canadian Pension Fund Conference (Victoria, B.C.), International Gold Conference (Kelowna, B.C.), Agency for International Development (Washington, D.C.), investment presentations across Canada, the United States, London, Germany and Switzerland, numerous presentations for investment seminars, corporate management and professional groups.

Media: prepared and delivered a daily Business Analysis for Radio CKNW, the top rated radio station in Vancouver and British Columbia at the time and stations on the network for over twenty years; wrote the Money Matters column in the Vancouver Province for almost five years; hosted the television program Opening Doors on the Knowledge Network; hosted ‘Ticker Talk’ and ‘How I See It’, regular video spots distributed by InvestmentPitch.com.; former contributing writer for Resource World Magazine; Publisher of Let’s Toke Business, contributor to Seeking Alpha and InvestorsHub and extensive other media work.

Other: represented the Mayor of West Vancouver on the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation Board, Financial Officer of the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation Board for one term, Chairman of Lions Gate Hospital Foundation Board for two terms; independent member of the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia Investment Committee for ten years.
